Lamborghini Urus Audi Q8
If you happen to own a 2021 Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne GTS or Turbo, or a fast Audi, then this news concerns you, because the vehicles have been recalled in North America in three separate campaigns, over an identical issue.
The first recall includes 4 units of the Lamborghini Urus, built between October 6 and 21, 2020, in Sant'Agata Bolognese. The Italian super SUVs may develop cracks on the surface of the engine cylinder bore, which could damage the block, increasing the risk of fire and leading to a sudden loss of power and an oil leakage.

The issue is blamed on "a temporary process error at the supplier (Nemak Europe in Germany) during the casting process of the specifically affected engine blocks during a specific period of time", according to an NHTSA document. "More specifically, temporarily misalignment of the automated mold-extrusion stamp occurred in the casting plant." Dealers will take care of the problem by replacing the affected engines, free of charge. The recall is expected to start on June 30, and owners can contact Lamborghini at 1-866-681-6276 or the safety agency at 1-888-327-4236.
A total of 15 units of the 2021 Audi RS6, RS7, SQ7, SQ8 and RS Q8 vehicles are also being recalled over an identical problem, blamed on the same supplier. These too will get new engines, and so will 12 units of the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupe. Concerned owners can contact Audi at 1-800-253-2834 and Porsche at 1-800-767-7243.
