Dodge Durango R/T & GT Engine Specifications
The GT and the GT PLUS come standard with 3.6-Liter V6 24-Valve Engine with ESS. Each of these Dodge Durango models puts out 295 horsepower. With 260 lb-ft of torque, these models can tow up to 6200 lbs. The Durango GT comes with one of the highest EPA ratings in the Dodge Durango lineup: 18 city/25 highway mpg.
The R/T comes with a 5.7-Liter V8 HEMI Engine. This pumps up the horsepower to 360 with 391 lb-ft of torque and a towing capacity of 7,400 lbs. The performance-oriented Dodge Durango R/T clocks in at 14 city/22 hwy mpg.
The Dodge Durango R/T really maxes out the performance orientation. Its suspension is sport-tuned and rear-leveling, and it rides at a lower height for overall better athleticism in handling.
Of course, with a faster 0-60 time, you also need better braking, and the R/T doesn't skimp with its heavy duty upgraded brakes.
One of the newest upgrades for the lineup is the Dodge Durango performance hood. Designed to cool the engine by up to 17 degrees with increased air flow, the performance hood is engineered around mesh vents that pull air from the scooped hood shape as you drive.
All three of these Dodge Durango models come standard with Sport Mode, which can be turned on with a simple flip of a switch.
Sport Mode smartly recalculates your acceleration, transmission shifting, and steering to provide a sharper, more responsive driving experience.
