Looking at buying an Ultra Classic 2009+. Anyone know if there are differences between 2010 and 2012 model years? Looking at similar bikes with similar miles. Thanks!

2010 had a 96ci, the limited had a 103ci, the se had the 110ci . I think the 103 ci was standard on 2012 and 2013 uc and limited, and 110 on the se, 14 was the styling change. Other then engine size, its the same bike, as long as its the same model, Limited has everything the UC has plus luggage rack, special paint scheme, heated grips, chrome wheels, security and abs, dc jack in TP.

Both the 2010 and 2012 FLHTK Ultra Limited's came standard with the 103 cu in engine. The Ultra Classic was a 96 cu in back in 2010. Both have the 6-speed transmission, electronic throttle, cruise control and heated grips. There is very little if anything besides colors that is different between the 2010 and 2012 Ultra Limited.

The Ultra Classic is another story. It is not the same as the Ultra Limited.

I know one thing: If you' re lookin' for a touring bike either one of 'em will be Just Fine.

I have ridden Windchaser's bike just a little bit, and I believe it is an '09. Anyway, I KNOW it has the new frame. That is the lightest feeling big bike I've ever ridden, other than the '11 model that I demo'd in South Dakota. And the one there wasn't packed with gear. Windchaser's bike was loaded for a three-day weekend with his wife. My very first impression upon swinging a leg over it and standing it up was how light it felt. And I'm always amazed at how well he can swing that thing through the Smoky's. I'll put it this way: ain't nobody waiting for him.

I'd take ANY of the Ultra's from '09 up and feel like I had my need for a touring bike very well taken care of.

By the way, ain't nothing wrong with that 96" engine, either.

Thanks to H-dawg12 for the concise explanation of the differences between the Limited and Classic.

Thanks everyone. I am headed out today to buy. I think the 12 has a 17" wheel on it but I guessed they were pretty much the same. Will buy the 12 unless the seller of the 10 makes it worth my while - $$$....

Good luck. And enjoy the ride. I love my '12 Limited. I tried chasing Liljo around Arkansas last summer with it. But he and Sinister Bob was too agile for me.
